I was recently asked if I'd ever be concerned if my artwork here could be stolen, ripped, or abused.

I thought stupidly that since I'm not that popular I had less of a chance of this happening to me. Apparently that was a wrong assumption.

My work has been used elsewhere without my permission. Not just mine but others too. I am NOT happy. Maybe I wouldn't be so annoyed if the person had taken five minutes to ask me, but they didn't -- and that makes them a stupid stupid coward.

I also am largely disgusted by individuals who use stolen artwork to further their fame and careers on this website -- while the rest of us struggling artists create our work not for accolades but as an expression of ourselves to be enjoyed.

There is an incredible staleness to this website that grows -- be it the images that look all the same, the photomanipulated backgrounds that may actually be questionable, the number of images that are clearly in violation of DA's terms of use, stockart that is clearly porn instead of nude stock, images showcasing morphed breasts and asses being commonplace, or the numerous images ripped from the internet -- are just some of the examples.

It makes me sad to see so many friends and wonderful artists forced to leave because of it all..

I'm not the best artist in the world, there's tons of people on here that are wonderful and far better -- but I think we all share the same work ethic when it comes to thievery.
